How we make money
brandnames.dev is free, needs no account, and is built by Agent9. Here is exactly how it pays for itself.
Today: no link on brandnames.dev earns a commission. When that changes, this page and the price panel will say so.
Commissions, disclosed
Some registrars and partners pay a commission when someone buys through a referral link. When we join a program, links to that registrar or partner may earn us one. The price you pay stays the same.
Commissions never change the order
- Prices are sorted by what a domain costs over five years: the first year plus four renewals.
- A registrar that pays us nothing ranks first whenever it is cheapest.
- Automated tests check that the order is identical whether a registrar pays us or not.
Other ways we will earn
- Optional paid tools for people who name things often, such as saved projects, alerts and bulk checks. Finding and checking names stays free.
- Naming consultations and website or app builds from Agent9, offered only after you have picked a name.
What we never do
- We never register or hold the names you search. We are not a registrar.
- We never sell data, show ads, or take payment for placement.
- We keep no record of who searched what.
How your searches stay private
- Name ideas are generated on your device.
- Only the domains on your screen are sent for availability checks. Some checks go from your browser straight to the official registry, which then sees your connection like any website does.
- For related words and search trends, our server looks up a single keyword with public word and Wikipedia services. They see our server, not you.
- We keep no logs of your keywords or the names you check. Cloudflare hosts the site and, like any host, keeps standard traffic statistics for 31 days; the names you search are never part of them.
- Abuse limits use a one-way, salted fingerprint of your connection, held in memory and never saved.
